The Occupational Safety Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as “OSRI”) is a public research institution established by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, pursuant to Act No. 341/2005 Coll.

The purpose of establishing OSRI is to carry out research in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) and to fulfill tasks arising from International Labour Organization conventions, applicable health and safety legislation, from the requirements of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, the European Agency for Occupational Safety and Health, Eurostat and from the needs of the founder, the State Labour Inspection Authority and regional labour inspectorates.

This website was financially supported by institutional support for the long-term conceptual development of the research organization for the years 2018–2022 and is a part of project No. 08-2020-OSRI The issue of illegal work with emphasis on labour law aspects and related ensuring OSH, which is solved by the Occupational Safety Research Institute in cooperation with the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in the years 2020–2022.

The aim of the research task is to map the current state, analyze, compare with relevant foreign practice, make proposals for appropriate changes, adjustments in terms of labour law aspects, OSH, related legislation and regulations, and then develop recommendations for labour inspection authorities. The planned outputs are peer-reviewed articles, audiovisual podcasts, a web application and workshops on this issue.
